Visvarupa Darsana Yogah - Sanjaya said: Having heard these words of Krishna, trembling and overwhelmed, Arjuna saluted Krishna with folded hands and spoke falteringly.

द्रोणं च भीष्मं च जयद्रथं च कर्णं तथान्यानपि योधवीरान् |
मया हतांस्त्वं जहि मा व्यथिष्ठा युध्यस्व जेतासि रणे सपत्नान् ||34||

Sanjaya said: Having heard these words of Krishna, trembling and overwhelmed, Arjuna saluted Krishna with folded hands and spoke falteringly.

Gad-gadam: Choking with emotion.
Bhita-bhitah: Terrified and trembling.
Keshavasya: Of Krishna.

Visvarupa Darsana Yogah - Arjuna said: O Hrishikesha, rightly does the world rejoice in singing Your glory. The rakshasas flee in fear in all directions, and all the perfected beings bow to You.

सञ्जय उवाच एतच्छ्रुत्वा वचनं केशवस्य कृताञ्जलिर्वेपमान: किरीटी |
नमस्कृत्वा भूय एवाह कृष्णं सगद्गदं भीतभीत: प्रणम्य ||35||

Arjuna said: O Hrishikesha, rightly does the world rejoice in singing Your glory. The rakshasas flee in fear in all directions, and all the perfected beings bow to You.

Rakshamsi: Demons or Rakshasas.
Hrishikesha: Another name for Krishna.
Anurajyate: Feeling delighted.

Visvarupa Darsana Yogah - O great one, why should they not bow to You, O greatest among the great? O infinite one, Lord of the gods, refuge of the universe, You are imperishable.

अर्जुन उवाच स्थाने हृषीकेश तव प्रकीर्त्या जगत्प्रहृष्यत्यनुरज्यते च |
रक्षांसि भीतानि दिशो द्रवन्ति सर्वे नमस्यन्ति च सिद्धसङ्घा: ||36||

O great one, why should they not bow to You, O greatest among the great? O infinite one, Lord of the gods, refuge of the universe, You are imperishable.

Gariyase: Greater or superior.
Ananta: Infinite.
Sadasat: Cause of existence and non-existence.

Visvarupa Darsana Yogah - You are the primal God, the ancient Being, the ultimate refuge of this universe. You are the knower, the known, and the supreme abode. You pervade the universe with infinite form.

कस्माच्च ते न नमेरन्महात्मन् गरीयसे ब्रह्मणोऽप्यादिकर्त्रे |
अनन्त देवेश जगन्निवास त्वमक्षरं सदसतत्परं यत् ||37||

You are the primal God, the ancient Being, the ultimate refuge of this universe. You are the knower, the known, and the supreme abode. You pervade the universe with infinite form.

Adi-devah: The primal God.
Purushah-puranah: The ancient Being.
Param-nidhanam: Ultimate refuge.

त्वमादिदेव: पुरुष: पुराणस्- त्वमस्य विश्वस्य परं निधानम् |
वेत्तासि वेद्यं च परं च धाम त्वया ततं विश्वमनन्तरूप ||38||

You are Vayu, Yama, Agni, Varuna, Chandra, Prajapati, and the great-grandfather. Obeisance to You, a thousand times over.

Vayu: Wind god.
Varuna: God of water.
Prajapati: Lord of creation.

वायुर्यमोऽग्निर्वरुण: शशाङ्क: प्रजापतिस्त्वं प्रपितामहश्च |
नमो नमस्तेऽस्तु सहस्रकृत्व: पुनश्च भूयोऽपि नमो नमस्ते ||39||

Salutations to You in front and behind! O all-encompassing power, obeisance to You from all sides. O infinite in power, You pervade all; therefore, You are everything.

Prapitamahah: The great-grandfather, referring to Brahma.
Sarvata: From all sides.
Vikramah: Prowess or power.

नम: पुरस्तादथ पृष्ठतस्ते नमोऽस्तु ते सर्वत एव सर्व |
अनन्तवीर्यामितविक्रमस्त्वं सर्वं समाप्नोषि ततोऽसि सर्व: ||40||

Taking You for a friend, I have rashly called You Krishna, Yadava, and Friend, out of ignorance of Your greatness, and I have been negligent in my regard.

Ajanata: Ignorantly or unknowingly.
Vapuh: Body or form.
Sakha: Friend.
