This space between the earth and the heavens and all directions is pervaded by You alone. Having seen this wondrous, terrible form of Yours, the three worlds tremble.
Hosts of gods enter You and some with folded hands sing Your glory in fear. Great sages and perfected beings praise You with auspicious hymns.
The Rudras, Adityas, Vasus, Sadhyas, Ashvins, Maruts, Gandharvas, Yakshas, Asuras, and Siddhas—all gaze upon You in amazement.
O mighty-armed one, seeing Your many mouths and eyes, terrible with fangs, and blazing with fire, the worlds are terrified, and so am I.
O Vishnu, seeing Your dazzling form touching the sky, blazing with many colors, with gaping mouths and wide flaming eyes, I am terrified at heart.
Seeing Your fanged mouths resembling the fires of cosmic dissolution, I lose my sense of direction and find no peace. Be gracious, O Lord of the gods, O abode of the universe.
